Interim Director of Finance and Accounting, Irene Buenavista performs a strategic role in the Director Leadership Team and the Finance and Accounting department. She is responsible for planning, implementing, directing, and managing staff resources, staff development, operations, and administrative functions of the department. She organizes, directs, and oversees client services management by establishing policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems to ensure daily operations, legal and regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction.

Ms. Buenavista began at Pinnacle in 2013, since then she has developed an extensive knowledge of special district financing and accounting which she actively shares with staff. Her systematic approach and strong work ethic are valuable qualities in her various duties.

She also has accounting and office administration experience in the healthcare, construction, and engineering industries. Ms. Buenavista’s background in an office setting and in customer service has shaped her organizational and time-management skills allowing her to recognize the value of completing tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Colorado State University.

Ms. Buenavista enjoys spending quality time with her family, as well as puzzles, board games and Colorado summers.
